How to tie a Cinch or Clinch Knot - Line to fly

Cinch Knot Step 1

Step 1: Pass tippet through the eye of the hook.

Cinch Knot Step 2

Step 2: Cross the tag end over the tippet - creating a loose loop near the eye of the hook.

Cinch Knot Step 3

Step 3: Make about 6 wraps* around the main line.

Cinch Knot Step 4

Step 4: Pass tag (loose) end through the loop created in Step 2.  Moisten and pull snug on tippet end (do not pull the tag end).
